Pāvilosta has been our family's top place to escape Riga during the summer and fall for a long time. With its beautiful and empty beaches, small streets and great people, it is not just a small city in Latvia but a true escape into another world. And now the escape has become nicer, because there is a new place called Peldmāja (Floating House).
Peldmāja is built on the water and consists of six connected wooden houses, each with a terrace that looks out at the beautiful streets and harbor of Pāvilosta. Each is separated by a wall that is easy to open if two families live next to each other. This allows you to experience what Pāvilosta is all about – water and fishers. Suitable for family of four, it is as simple as simple can be with places to sleep on the first and second floor, a small kitchen suitable for cooking your meals, and a swinging chair that no one wants to get out of. The best thing is to leave the big windows open and lie in bed watching the fishers sail out to sea or return to sell their catch right in front of you.
Peldmāja is a real gem that Pāvilosta deserved a long time ago. It is so good that you truly have no desire to go anywhere else, but when you do, you cannot wait to come back.
