Lemon and tea

I am a dreamer and a romantic. I have always been so. I have always dreamed about celebrating life in every form and every way. Be it parent parties or for kids – I have always loved them because it was time to dress up. Time to get ready. To have that sensation of something special. It was and still is the greatest joy that I have – to see people enjoy themselves, smile, and laugh.

When I was a kid, I used to mix the words “celebration” and “skirt” (in Latvian they are pretty similar). Today, we wear skirts way too rarely, and I think I wasn't far from the truth, since today, we wear a skirt to celebrate – birthdays, name days, weddings, or just because we feel extra feminine today (while working and earning money – that doesn't happen that often now).

I am romantic and when I was about to lose my romantic nature, my daughters were born – two unbelievably romantic personalities. Two ladies that like to dress up in dresses and skirts and who are a great reminder to me that I am one of them. That I should not lose romaticism and that I should embrace it. And while some may think that skirts and dresses do not define womanhood, I still think it does. In a way it does. And every little dress helps (ha ha ha).

Sometimes I don't need much to be inspired. Sometimes the smallest things can do the trick. Sometimes even the most irrelevant things do the trick. And the 2017 H&M Conscious Exclusive collection did just that. With all the beautiful whites, yellows, motifs of spring and summer, recycled materials (the main dress in this collection is made from plastic bottles that were washed out from the sea), and texture. All that inspired me for something special, fresh, and beautiful. For a time together, for moments to share, for a girls’ afternoon out, for celebrating life.
